Residency Application Scholarships

AMWA Residency Application Scholarship Fund

The AMWA Residency Application Scholarship Fund supports medical students from LCME-accredited U.S. allopathic or osteopathic schools who demonstrate financial need, offering a one-time award of $250–$500 to help offset residency application costs. Applicants submit a short essay (≤350 words) describing their need and how the scholarship would help. Recipients receive complimentary AMWA resident membership for the duration of training, with no repayment required.

Panacea Financial FOUNDATION

Panacea Financial, through its 501(c)(3) Panacea Financial Foundation, provides financial and administrative support to underrepresented minority physician-trainees, aspiring physicians, and mission-aligned nonprofits. Funded by both profits and donations, the foundation is dedicated to improving diversity in medicine and strengthening the physician pipeline.

Fee Assistance Program - AAMCE

The AAMC Fee Assistance Program helps aspiring medical students who face financial barriers cover the cost of the MCAT®, AMCAS® applications, and other related expenses. Eligible applicants must have a U.S.-based address, meet income requirements (≤400% of the 2024 federal poverty level for family size), and not be accepted to or enrolled in any medical school. The program is currently processing applications submitted by August 11.
