Our Story

The Doctors of Color Consortium (D.O.C.C.) was born from a simple but radical idea: that representation, mentorship, and structural support should not be the exception—they should be the foundation. We are physicians, residents, and students of color who came together not just to survive in medicine, but to transform it.

What began as late-night group chats, whispered encouragements in call rooms, and impromptu hallway coaching sessions has grown into a national movement. We’ve seen how one mentor can change a life. How one voice at the table can shift a conversation. How one invitation—intentional, honest, and affirming—can open doors that were never meant to be closed to us in the first place.

D.O.C.C. exists to multiply those moments.

We provide tangible resources, real talk workshops, mentorship opportunities, and advocacy tools rooted in cultural humility and collective action. But more than that, we are a community. A home base. A place where Black, Latinx, Indigenous, and all historically excluded voices in medicine are not only seen—but centered.

We are not waiting for institutions to catch up. We are creating what we needed, and building what will last.

This is more than a network. It’s a movement. And there’s room for you.
